At the moment we have about 3 tons of horse manure and we will probably have a lot more in the future as we get another horse or two. We collect all the manure from the field on a daily basis and put it into big

compost bins so that it will become a very useful fertilizer for the natural gardener. We are still experimenting with the most efficient way of composting the manure so at the moment it is only partially composted and we are waiting to source some organic straw which would should be just the ingredient we need. But as there appears to be a shortage of manure that is not full of wormers and other nasty chemicals we thought we could put it on sale early.
We are hoping to use any money raised by the sale of manure to buy another horse who would be a much needed companion to our current horse, Stella who we rescued nearly a year ago. Then we would use the manure from both horses to buy a third one and at that stage we would like to put the combined income from all the horse
manure towards buying some land so we can live beside them and have more space for growing our fruit and veg.
So if you live near limerick (Ireland) and would like some manure for your fruit or veg then please email me in order to arrange something. Ideally we can deliver the manure if enough people are i

Partially composted manure is great used as a mulch on all your fruit and roses and will gradually incorporate into the ground to improve the soil texture and fertility. You can also add some to your compost heap as a starter and therefore get better quality compost in a shorter time.
The price per bag has not yet been finalised but we are going to start off with €4 per 40 litre bag of partially composted manure.
As I said above, we are looking for some organic straw to buy so if you have some or know where to get any please let us know. If you want to do a swap for some manure that would be great also.

Our horse, Stella, eat grass from a field that was previously used for growing veg without any chemical additives at all. She is being wormed naturally so there are no nasty insecticides and any supplemental feeding that she gets is grown on a local organic farm. It is not certified organic but is completely natural. At the moment it is not free from weed seeds as it has not reached high enough temperatures, but on the small scale of what we use it for it has presented no problem. About 2 minutes of weeding each week has kept any weeds at bay.
